Today, the finalists in Aotearoa New Zealand’s Sir Julius Vogel Awards for Science Fiction & Fantasy were announced. You can find them all here.
Huge thanks to everyone who nominated something this year. You’re the ones who keep the lights on for awards like these and make our little author hearts burst (in a good way) when we get a chance at one of those beautiful super stabby trophies.
I am so honoured to be a finalist for Best Novel for City of Souls and Best Short Story for ‘My Nascent Garden’, first published in Analog Magazine in 2022. I also have works in two of the finalists for Best Collected Work: Year’s Best Aotearoa New Zealand Science Fiction & Fantasy Volume 4 features my story ‘Data Migration’ which was first published in Strange Horizons, and Tales from the Tavern features my story ‘Unrequited Sonata’ first published by NewMyths.
Congratulations to all the other finalists and long-listees. Make sure you check out both lists! Members of SFFANZ will vote on the finalists and the winners will be announced in early June.
